Recycled lubricants manufacturer Forestoil joins the Fluo Group

Forestoil Oy became part of the Fluo Group in January 2025 through a merger. The merger will increase Fluo's offering of recycled raw material-based products, from plastic products to lubricants.

Forestoil produces environmentally friendly lubricants for the forest industry, for example. The company offers companies an easy solution for the recovery of hazardous oils by collecting used clear lubricating oils from all over Finland. The collected oils are further processed into lubricants at a production plant in the municipality of Vöyr.

According to Petri Aaltonen, CEO of the Group, Forestoil complements Fluo's existing services well:

-Forestoil is a good fit for our Group. In addition to their proximity, both Fluo and Forestoil have the same basic idea: to enable the processing of used and recycled materials and the manufacture of new recycled-based products. Our activities have a significant positive environmental impact.  

The reorganisation will not result in any changes to day-to-day operations, and all Forestoil employees will continue to work for the Group as existing employees. Timo Hakola, owner of Forestoil, commented on the arrangement:

-Forestoil has built up a strong supply network and expertise in lubricant recycling over decades. I thank Forestoil's employees for their excellent contribution so far, and I look forward to working with Fluo. Fluo's recycling expertise and resources will enable us to expand our operations even further.

The Finnish Fluo Group, based in Kokkola, has expanded its range of services and grown rapidly in recent years. The group's entities offer a wide range of circular economy services, including the processing of materials collected by the group into recycled raw materials and even remanufactured products. The parties' combined turnover in 2024 was around €35 million and they employ nearly 140 circular economy professionals.
